The Dovecote

Enabling and inspiring people
facing the prospect of living life
without children

to reconnect with their daily lives
and rediscover a passion and purpose.

‘The Dovecote’ is an organisation established to enable people facing ‘involuntary childlessness’ to obtain the support, strategies, knowledge and experiences to discover a renewed life of passion and purpose, which often feels impossible during this journey. Inspired by her own personal experience of infertility, loss and involuntary childlessness, Kelly Da Silva, founded ‘The Dovecote’ to share the knowledge, research, training and tools gained through her own personal journey, which can be attested to provide others with the same ability to deal with the challenges ‘involuntary childlessness’ brings.

Our Vision
A life of ‘passion and purpose’ for those who experience involuntary childlessness
Our Mission: What drives us…
“To enable and inspire people facing the prospect of living life without children to reconnect with their daily lives and rediscover a passion and purpose”
Our Aims: What we hope to achieve…
To create a safe and supportive network to ensure those experiencing childlessness are “not alone”
To provide holistic market-leading tools and techniques to empower individuals to move forward
To help individuals move forward with a sense of pride and not of shame
To be seen as a leading organisation for childlessness support and contribute to a change in society’s views on the stigma of being childless

The National Fertility Awareness Week

The National Fertility Awareness Week is Monday 31st October to Sunday 6th November 2016. It is your week; save the dates now and please join us in raising awareness of the couples who struggle to become parents.

Fertility issues are all too often misrepresented and misunderstood. It’s common for media attention to be focused on stereotypes of fertility struggles: the 30 – or 40 – something career woman who’s left it too late; the against-the-odds IVF success story or the woman who’s apparently easily come to terms with childlessness – but this is far from the real picture.

Our programmes offer a tailored toolkit of self-exploration, personal development and growth, helping those who wish to live with passion and purpose.

"This has given me personal confidence"

“I would like to say how much The Dovecote has changed my life. I've only been part of the organisation and community for a short time and already they have given me the power to stand up to people about my feelings about childlessness. This has given me personal confidence and I am now able to enjoy life more. I would like to say a personal thank you to Kelly for all her words of support and sharing her own experiences and for setting up The Dovecote”

"The group has given me hope"

"I feel very fortunate to have found Kelly and the wonderful women that make up The Dovecote Community. It is so comforting to meet other women who understand the enormity of the emotions, pain and devastation that infertility and childlessness can bring. The group has given me hope in some of the darkest of my days and has really helped turn my mood around from the bleakness to starting to feel excited about our future again"
